Textbook Questions

After reading chapter 6 and 7of the textbook, Philosophy the Power of Ideas, answer the following questions. Each answer should be at a minimum 1 paragraph. The grade of A (180 out of 200 points) will only be assigned to exemplary submissions which demonstrate extensive thought and effort in completion of the assignment.

1-Explain and evaluate David Hume’s arguments against induction (including the notion of the role the principle of the uniformity of nature plays in the argument) and also arguments against cause and effect.
2-Explain and evaluate Immauel Kant’s notion of the noumenal and the phenomenal.
3-Explain and evaluate Hegels arguments against the noumenal.
4-Explain and evaluate Schopenhauer’s pessimism.
5-Which, if any of the philosophers in these chapters has a reasonable view of epistemology or metaphysics and why?
