(DIT) ICASAS506A Assessment 2 V1A ICASAS506A | Update IT system operational procedures Page 1 of 2 Assessment 2:: Reviewing End-User Documentation Your Task is to do the following: A. Download and Review either the EliteBook or MacBook Pro User manual from LearningSpot (download the User Guide that is appropriate for the Evocca laptop that you have been issued with). B. Compare the accuracy with the current system functionality C. Identify and document inaccuracies in the documentation. D. Develop a review report to document outcomes. DOWNLOAD AND REVIEW THE USER MANUAL FOR YOUR ASSIGNED LAPTOP. Review the documentation completely covering all the major aspects. Some of these include: 

Documentation Standards  Purpose of documentation  Audience analysis  Documentation Requirements  Determine content structure –writing style, grammar, etc.  Communications to staff regarding the IT environment upgrade  Version control guidelines Be sure to download the correct User Manual – if you have the HP EliteBook, then download EliteBook.pdf – If you have a MacBook Pro, then download the Macbook_pro.pdf – both of these files can be found in Learning Spot – Additional Resources(DIT) ICASAS506A Assessment 2 V1A ICASAS506A | Update IT system operational procedures Page 2 of 2 COMPARE THE ACCURACY WITH THE CURRENT SYSTEM FUNCTIONALITY Compare the accuracy of the User Guide documentation and compare it with your current system (either the HP EliteBook or Apple MacBook) – in particular, checking the current system functionality against the User Manual. Use the review check list found in Learning Spot to assess the accuracy of the User Guide. IDENTIFY AND DOCUMENT ANY INACCURACIES IN THE DOCUMENTATION. Develop a review checklist and identify any inaccuracies in the documentation. Use the review check list found in Learning Spot – Additional Resources, and include the table in your report (fully completed). Once you have reviewed the documentation, write a detailed report that will highlight whether or not you thought the User Manual was “fit for purpose” and, if necessary, any recommendations for improvements. Be sure to also include in your report an Introduction (describe what type of documentation you are reviewing) and the following information:  Do you feel the documentation is adequate or not.  Did you consider the training sufficient?  Do you consider the documentation to be useful and complete?  Identify any problems or areas of improvement (Review Checklist).  Note any obvious errors such as spelling or typing.  Show how you would rewrite or correct them (Recommendations). If errors were detected in the User Manual, include those errors in your report as evidence with your recommended corrections.
